About the time the Board of Directors was looking for a home for the El Dorado County Western Slope Boys & Girls Club, the California National Guard had launched a statewide initiative to become more involved in the communities where they have armories. We developed an innovative partnership with the California National Guard, a first in this state.

Placerville On June 2, 1999 the Western Slope Boys & Girls Club began daily programs for here in Placerville. The Guard provides the Armory, located at the fairgrounds in Placerville, for a Clubhouse. Summer programs operate from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Our school year hours are 2:00-6:00 PM, Monday- Friday. This site serves members ages 6 to 18. >> Program Calendar, Map and Driving Directions
Through the generous support of the community, local government and private foundations, our state of the art technology center is located adjacent to the Armory. It will provide the Club members with 12 computers in a learning center environment, and help to ensure that no Club members will be left behind in this age of technology. The Buckeye Mother Lode Foundation, El Dorado Savings, and Serrano Associates together with the Sacramento Kings have also contributed to making this dream a reality. |
